Hermana Zullo
Of course everyone is welcome to read this post, but I just wanted to send a little thought out to all those other missionaries out there.

So there I was, minding my own business (aka the Lord's business), just working in the vineyard of Clarksville, TN, when I got that call we all dread: the District Leader.  It was almost Wednesday, so instinctively we knew that he wanted to make assignments for none other than the next district meeting.  It's always a small leap of faith to answer this call, but with a look of encouragement from the companion and a deep breath, I answered it.

My assignment: Spiritual thought.  Theme? Charity.  Ok, let's get to work.  Personal study: Pray and ask God for help to know what it is I need to share from the huge scheme of possiblities on this never-failing subject.  It's always a small process to know how to share something simple, pure without 'fluff'', but that isn't the typical "thank you so much!  Thoughts: I've heard this exact thought 5,463 times already on my mission...." What's the secret to this complicated recipe?  The Holy Ghost. So as I was searching the scriptures and praying for direction I came across a very well known scripture in the Bible that touched me like it never had before.

34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye alove one another; as I have loved you, that ye also blove one another.
35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have alove one to another.
Wow.  As a missionary, I always want people to be able to recognize me as a servant and a representative of Christ, because if they don't, nothing I say will have any real significance to them. Christ is who qualifies and it is HIS message I share.  This scripture clearly states that men will recognize us as His disciples if we love one another.  Wow.  Love is the key.  Thank you oh faithful District Leader for this assignment so I could learn a little bit more on how to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ in His work.

You just got to love on people!

Hope is... to love.

  1. OH NO! You did a wonderful job on your spiritual thought. The spirit was sure there. We all learned from your dedicated studies. I forgot what it is like to get a phone call like that. Well actually I have never worried about that because my companions were always the district leaders. But I always end up getting the call from the Assistants! Thanks for all you do! :)
